slow motion galaxies

Posted to Poetry

She plundered my memories

she is hungrier than Africa

only boots and bedspreads remain

tangled

strewn in magic invocation

of whatever

gods are listening

the buddha statue on the dresser

smiles in beneficence

I remember your magnificence

& your legs

slow motion galaxies unwind

in the vast emptiness of the sky

the lonely room is wrecked

by cracks in the curtain

there's no electricity but

I can smell your sexual presence

from last night when I told you

I wasn't really sure

how can I be ––––– sometimes I hardly even exist

the curtain re-arranges a blinding copper sunrise

––––––––––––– sets off an apocolypse in my head

erasing thoughts of calling you

so I take my shirt and

go out into the street.
