I fail to find any sort of intelligent claim in your post Buddy Boy. Kerouac's style was completely innovative, unique, and truly first rate. Kerouac wrote On the Road in 3 WEEKS!!! Kerouac's body of work was remarkable considering his lifestyle. He wrote about 16 novels, 4 books of poetry, and a 300 page sketch on buddhism. You can't even compare Twain and Kerouac, much less each respective generation. Frankly, a Twain novel will put me to sleep within 5 minutes of starting it, but that's just my opinion. No doubt he was "great" but he was deemed great by the critics and now everyone accepts it without much thought of their own. But, you are right, only time will tell and it will prove you wrong.
