Over time...

you might consider 'The Place of Dead Roads.' Extremely uninhibited (for some a little to much so). I feel that it's Burroughs best work. Even 'Naked Lunch' appears tame to this surreal turn of the century western about homosexuality, guns, dualism, rebellion, inner demons, and piecing all of them together through abstract excerpts and dreams which don't really make any kind of final sense until the very ending. But then again I prefer 'Gravity's Rainbow' to 'The Crying of Lot 49' so what do I know?
