if we look at love as 'one-on-one' we belittle the precept of compassion. the dangling of self love hardly equates with the worldliness of true compassion.

if Trudy loves Tom, and I love Trudy, I would be sad for but a moment, but compassion would prevail. The joy of two living in harmony does not equal the joy of all living in harmony...

it has been said: the plant equates with sex, the flower equates with physical attraction, whilst the fragrance equates with compassion, to be shared by all.
