Howl and other poems
I'm reading old courage teacher's (ginsi's) Howl and other poems. Howl amazes me every time with it's force, it's beauty and it's sadness.I've never really paid any attention to part 2 before, because I didn't understand it. The first part is like a sad howl to all the lost souls Ginsberg knew and the third specifies on one of those lost souls, Carl Solomon. But what is part 2 really about? The society that destroyed theese lost souls???????????????
Btw, I would strongly urge anyone who hasn't done it yet to read America. It's a really funny poem and one of the best political satires ever written.Today it's even more important than it's ever been.
