a stronger omen

Posted to Poetry and Politics

humans
adjusting to
life
adjusting
to death
surviving
with hope

telling
of the things
they see
in the gaps between
their pulsating dreams
coupling with
hope and the
unquenchable flames
of love heavier
than stone

telling it to the very
wall that grows
before them

telling
of the landfall
of the mirage
of the waiting
of the word
of memory
and semen

going on
and on
and
on

their footprints erased
by the brightness
gathered in
their eyes
and by their songs
waiting
behind the
sealed up mouths
of their caves

humans
wandering along their
motherland's roads
their father's hopes
their children's future
with no one's voice
hirelings, lost
asking for words
accepting the grief
and the speech lying
in the blood that their
open hearts
still squander

bliss & oath - spat out
by grappled flesh
by former self
by hope, radiant hope
burning in the
alleyways of dream

a need
alien to prayer and
fevered by arable earth
lost in the brilliance
of memory
far from home

scattering the hundred-faced lie
that makes them invisible
that haunts them along
with their own ashes
their lone wishes
towards the unlands
of light
towards the rose-round
corolla of dream
towards the overwhelming well
that generates peace
encroaching on slaughter

going on
going
on

their breath granting
a stronger omen
than the orchards
of hate

many
are there
shaped into the living
sum of a rainbow

many
water the shoots
of the secret gardens of peace
that grow in the furrows
of a place
of ripeness
