four-year-old with a butterfly net --

sprinting all over the park, pink sweatshirt flapping
in search of twin white floating flutter-byes
with the sun in her eyes, now who among you will be the one
to catch her?

. . . . . . . . . . . .

cherry blossoms are blooming --

naked trees seeking foliage clothing
spiked grass, a dog barking
with henious lawnmower breath

. . . . . . . . . . . .

limestone slabs --

mossed over & an ant crawling, leading to a garden
on the edge of the woods, following a path set down
for banging human hearts by
unknown grandfather wisdom

. . . . . . . . . . . .

one-year-old sleeping --

in a tie-dye bean bag holyboy christ buddha in fetal repose
direct electric migration to the
celestial loop de loop

. . . . . . . . . . . .

guitar chime in chunka chunka unison --

rich chord ringing bronze string vibration
noodle note strum push e major
resonance like a thinking wink
from god

. . . . . . . . . . . .

tulips like two lips --

open all day a yellow orange red kiss
garden sutra breath song lipstick smooth
smudge stick on skin
sunlipped

. . . . . . . . . . . .

seven-year-old head whirling like a spinning frisbee --

moving, hopping, running
park on saturday, grateful dead playing
fire on the mountain
snoochin from a boombox the thump thump thump
of fast foot-falls
like a san francisco metranome
la bamba girl meditation
