let me walk alone-
let the dogs sniff my feet
let the smoke blow in my face
forget me now, ask again later
ask me now the love I had
ask me later the thoughts I forgot
ask me how I forgave
forget me now
there, on plaid sofa, arms stretched
around the new-forget me now
her lips, supple and red,
her hands, soft to touch
weave with new
forget me now.
