Chicago and lands 'tween to Charleston

Posted to Action Poetry

Sal, You've got the words,
and the soul, Peace, my friend...

(random follow up, to follow...)
Roads heavy
late night pile up
tractor trailers, waitng to pass
and my trip home from Chicago
another week delayed in purest excitement
detours led to exits unknown
on asphault unseen to new towns and flashing lights and late night catapulting into bars where the music was just a little louder, and the beer a little more like water,
drink and feel and listen
and wake up, in the back of this old yellow suburban, gazing out the broken back window
into endless stars and words unknown
someday I'll see those stars
up close
like the mountains 'tween chicago and charleston
