Voiceless Songs

Posted to Action Poetry

Here's some poems. They're meant to be songs. But anyway I cannot sing to you, so just imagine...

SHE'S MY HEROIN

She's my heroin.
I take her for a sin.
She's the only girl I know.
She's of a lonesome kind
She left her mum behind.
She's the one that I adore.
I saw her walkin' straight to a bar.
Oh how I miss the fire of her breath!
She is so strange and beautiful.

She's my heroin.
I take her for a sin.
Gravity's not meant for her.
She's dancin' to the night.
In her veins beats up all life.
Gravity's not good for her.
She's never frightened of the night.
It's strange to see her prayin' to the moon.
She never stays alone at night.

She's my junkie nurse.
She's dressed in ragged furs.
She is walkin' like a child.
Her hair so fiery red
Her skin so pale and white.
The stars do shine upon her eyes.
I saw her walkin' way up high.
Oh how I want to take her down with me!
Her lips so red, her eyes so wide.

Blue eyelids of gleam
The way you've never seen.
She walks the way she wants to go.
If she comes take her hand!
You'll never understand
The way she talks, the way she goes.
And there's no reason why not to love her.
There's no chanceÂ…

HOLLOW BONES

I got some hollow bones
That I don't know where to rest.
They're very frightful bones
That I'm sure of I will miss.
But if you see them in the morning
You can tell them I feel fine.
You must know that I have stuff them
With some heroin and wine.

I got some broken legs
That I don't know where they go.
They're very tired legs
But I'm sure that they will go.
And if you meet them in the evening
You must tell them I was wrong.
I told them, 'Go the way you want to!'
Soon realized they had been gone.

I got a tattooed brain
That I've put into a chaste monk's robe.
A very truthful brain
But inside it's dead and cold.
And all that it had ever needed
Was just a fix to serve its pain
But all that it has ever got were
Just some grapes of heartless wine.

And though the drunken sailor's lonesome
He won't make a deal with me.
He's still searching for his beauty-
Duty queen of gasoline.
But if you see him in his kitchen
You can tell him I feel well.
I would rather live forever
Than to go straight on to hell.

I got some hollow bones
That I don't know where to put away.
They're very faithful bones
That I'm sure of they will go away.
But if you see them in the dawning
You can greet them with a smile.
You must now that I have stuff them
With some heroin and wine.

NIGHT CHILD

Your body
Is a beauty of fame.
Your dark glassed eyes
Like two open windowpanes
With nothin' more inside
Than just your flesh and soul.
Night Child, you are
A goddess of my soul.

The flesh you wear
Has been chosen by god
And whenever he took eye on you
He knew that
Wherever your steps will go
He would be sad
'Cause he cannot follow you
Inside your head.

'Cause you're the angel
From above as from below.
Night Child, you are
A teacher of my soul.
Yes, you're the broken angel
From below.
Night Child, you are
A goddess of my soul.

AS GOES THE WIND

Is there a way to talk and sing
Or to pretend or praise and swing
Or dancin' through this horrible
Loneliness and pain?
I search for reasons why to die
Searchin' for an alibi
To end these awful lonesome dreams
That put myself to sleep.
If someone gives a message
Get every message lost!
There is no use in all this talk
There is no use in love.
If freedom rules your colors
There is no use in sin
But the answer is just passin' by
As goes the wind.

I got no father, got no wife
Instead some substitute for life
Livin' was just easier
Lyin' scared in bed.
I glorified my solitude
And searched for reasons to be rude
But settled on the wrong place here
'Cause chastity hurts.
Please hand myself an angel!
Please hand myself a gun!
There is no sin in chastity
Oh, there is no use in fun.
If freedom rules your colors
There is no use in sin
But the seasons they are changin' all
As goes the wind.

I loved you, baby, oh I loved you much
But all crumbles that I have to touch
'Cause crumblin' is the way to be
Crumbled is my life.
And I know that you are my friend
But it's much better to pretend
That no one's there and all's been done
And it gets worse each day.
If someone gives his hands
You better get no grip!
You take him to the guillotine
And you show him where to hit.
And if you are not sacred
You can't get anything
The answers they're all passin' by
As goes the wind.

Is there a way to talk and sing
Or to pretend or praise and swing
Or dancin' though this horrible
Loneliness and pain?
I search for reasons why to die
Searchin' for an alibi
To end this awful lonesome dreams
And put myself to sleep.

TO SOMEONE (I KNOW)

I got a lady you should see
Her hair as gold as gold can be
She sits upon my knee
- She's oh so sweet!

It's oh so nice to have her there
When sunlight falls upon her hair
And upon her naked breast
That she moves

She's got two diamond eyes
I swear to god they make me die
Into her arms tonight
- It'll be allright!

She's got a golden ring
I wonder why it makes her sing
We sit and dance all night
Into the morning

I like the way her body moves
When she comes dancin' in my room
She wears her flourish smile
- That's all she wears!

I'M OFF'N WILD WOMEN 3:00

I'm off'n wild women
And cognac and sinnin'
For I'm in love with Jesus.
And I shot my wife.
I stabbed her with a knife
And gave her flesh to the dog.
And for now that she's dead
I shaved my head
And it made bad orchids of blood.

But oh, I know
What I'm gonna do
I'll fix up myself
And mend it with glue.

I'm off'n this livin'
You know it's no winnin'
With a woman who can't share the pain.
And I'm off'n these people
Who tell me it's evil
To fix, they say to fix is insane.
You see, they're so mean
But I know where they've been
And I know that they're not to blame.

But oh, I know
What I'm gonna do
I'll bury myself
With an old, dusty broom.

I'm off'n wild women
And cognac and sinnin'
For I'm in love with Jesus
And I don't know where
We're goin' from here
But I will go there with Jesus.

MOCKERY DIME OF LIGHT

With your perfumed ankles
And your vacant lips
Your secret flavors
Your perfected hips -
Who among them do you think
Could trace you?

With your colored eyelids
And your liberty speech
Your dollhouse parts
And your diamond teeth -
Who among them do you think
Could face you?

By your colorful disguise I know
That deep inside your hollow throat's
A child of lust that breaths like me
But who among them do you think
Could see?

With your favorite orchids
And your puppy skin
Your fake ideals
And the box I'm in -
Who among them would not fail
Your courthouse trial?

You paint your lips
With falsely pride.
Your salvation songs
They do not hide
That your lover sleeps outside
Your door and cries.

There're different ways for us to go
But yours the one I'll never go.
Your secrets are in shinin' white
Your holy light - so painful bright
Your guidin' eye is just
A mockery dime of light.

I LOVE THE WAY YOU ARE TONIGHT

I love the way you are tonight
Your pale blue lids and moonlight eyes
And I know that life is hard to take
But when I look at you I'm not afraid.

I love the way you sympathize
With all the beauty in the skies
And I'm not drunken when I say
That I will love you in any way.

You moved across my broken chest.
You mend it with your loveliness.
I'm drownin' in your sunlight seas.
The way you move makes me to believe.

I want to see your make up smile.
I want you to be by my side.
So honey please do reveal your top
Because that's what my heart is thinkin' of.

Your lovers arms around your bends.
I love to see your bosom's glance.
And yes, I'm sure I'll dance with you
In midnight hours and in sober mornings too.

'Cause love is stronger than the truth.
But in fact that's hard to prove.
And so I take my only way
But oh it leads me so
Oh it leads me so
Oh it leads me oh so far away.
