however, there are times
when you must accept
that some things cannot
be compromised;
love is unconditional,
accepting decisions
that cannot be controlled,
what creates happiness
for one can only benefit
the other
because pain is only
temporary
and through the acceptance of time
you will figure out
what can be endured.
but patience is a compromise
between hearts and clocks,
the physical, emotional and the intangible
and it's always an experiment
that results in numbness or elation
in the end. love will always endure
but the relationship may compromise
things we aren't ready to accept.
you make it sound so simple...
...these are merely words i tell myself
to lessen the temporary effect of pain
that seems to keep throbbing
no matter how metrical or melodic
i try to write or chant them.
