This passage really shows kerouac's vast knowledge of Buddhist writings and is typical of the King Mind in his attempts to make it easy enough for all his readers to understand. Having read many Buddhist works, I can see his tremendous appreciation for the concept of life as suffering, and his remarkable expertise on the subject.
