Good Question

Posted to WritersAndGenres

I'm not sure where Thompson fits in, but I do know that the majority of his writing is politically oriented. "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" is probably one of my all-time favorite books, and I'm a big fan of beat's and beat-like writers, so lets say he's an honorary beat. Heh. As for Tom Wolfe... I'm not sure where to put him. I think (although I haven't read it, shame on me) that Electric Koolaid... was a beat-like book, but "The Right Stuff" definately wasn't. Besides, John Irving is one of my favorite authors and he doesn't like Wolfe, so I don't either. Hehe... and yes, I'd jump in a lake if Irving did, too.
