I always thought interesting

Kerouac & Thoreau are writers from the same region seperated by a century, but their messages are startling similiar despite differing styles, & of course events surrounding their times. I'm sure Kerouac read Thoreau (as I type this I notice the similarities & uniqueness in names, the same Merrimac river Thoreau wrote about in a Week On..., Kerouac also was influenced by when the same river flooded & he wrote of in Dr. Sax.... & of course both were cited as influences/precursors of the hippies, kind of interesting similarities & connections.
