fine line

well, i see your point...... but i think going to war against iraq is a bit more complicated than that.... it may seem that there's a fine line between being proactive to protect a nation that COULD be under a threat, and propagating your own view of world politicing and domination... in george w. bush's case, i'd unfortunately say that the latter is the case....

besides, don't you think we're acting irrationally right now? iraq has agreed to let U.N. inspectors back into the country.... instead of allowing that process to occur, we're automatically assuming that it's not going to work out, so we want to go to war........

many problems with that tactic!! first of all, we lack backing and support if we just jump the gun like that...... second of all, we destroy all sorts of credibility in the international community because we appear to be acting like a bull-headed, single-minded teenager who's so controlled by his temper and hormones that he can't even have an intelligent, well-calculated thought...... third, we display a lack of patience, and don't realize that maybe we'd have the backing of many key countries if we'd just wait a bit and allow the process of the U.N. inspections to occur......

of course, none of this is to say that i don't think that saddam isn't a complete liar and heinous murderer...... it's just to say that there's a way to go about this that will still potentially yield the results we want without burning the ties with the international community that we've worked so long to build.......
