I died
long before I keeled over,
flopped like a hooked fish,
blaring eyed,
on the roaring edge
of living,
and lifeless.

I took
everything I could get,
filling my growling,
empty gutbag,
with the unsated hunger
of living
and lifeless.

I offer
my overstretched heart to you,
with distant arms of
reliable comfort,
bittersweet sugarcakes,
after lifeless.
