Vacancy

Posted to Poetry

So the night did arrive
Peeled from walls of emptiness
The only walls to ever hear your pain
Dreams crash to earth like rain
And all you’ve ever, never asked for
Is the world within your hands
And all you’ve really ever needed
Just the slight things to carry off your day
For the world to you to stop and look at you and all you do
Collar turned to those behind you
You know you’re right, never conform to

Pain, you know, like the back of your hand
Fear, like the pain at the back of your head
And to love it seems is the lost part of your heart

All alone some more just stand there
Soon a dream dispatched will land there
Solitaire, honed in a blank stare
Your angel’s fake and you don’t care
Lie alone in silent wonder
And another’s dream of you reaches out in slumber
And so a heart lies dormant
Looking for a peak to stand at
To gaze down at those who looked so wrong above you
All is the same, and all is anew
Collar turned to those behind you
You know you’re right, never conform to
You know, you know, you know
From any angle you are the best view
You know you’re right to
Never conform to
Vacancy
Your pain
No
