I don't get it

we have tried to put photos on our profiles
and also in posts.
I think the proper code was used and the images appear when the page reopens after the posting
but when IE is closed and then reopened the image is no longer there.
My question is why doesn't the image work from either of the two host sites where it resides?
am i missing something?

what's wrong with it? why does the image appear at first and then disappear?
we thought it might be reading from the cache on our computer, but other people on the internet saw the image and then it disappeared
