science is a religion.
Big Bang? Gravitational attraction compacting particles together? Geothermal heat producing volcanoes that release steam that becomes the oceans? Ok, that works as an explanation for the creation of Earth.
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Ok, that's an explanation too.
In the pit Ginungagap, a giant called Ymir arose. Eventually he gave three offspring, who killed him and build the world out of his pieces. His blood became the waters, his bones the mountains, his hair the grass. And, oh yeah, one of these three guys was Odin. Yet another explanation.
None of these can be concretely proved or disproved. So they all have the same validity.
