art vs. artist

Posted to Utterances

i don't know ... this is a conflict for me, personally. maybe it's more a case of love the sinner, hate the sin? i do know i'm not perfect and i will say in many cases when i find out something less than agreeable about and artist/author/performer (to me) it's hard for me to disconnect that reality from the art/product that is created. i find this issue popping up not just in art or literature, but in more pop culture-type scenarios, such as tv/movies, sports, product endorsements, etc.

i'll add more to this later... but thanks for posting it over here.
