...thought about what you said per batman & robin > i don't think we are crusaders in that way. it's just that once something is said,once something is laid down in words it opens many many doors & it's always a ball to kick it around to see what happens or where it might lead. Burner's words happened to lead me to an open & empty tomb, to john ,who, after seeing with his own eyes could not stand still anymore and ran, not away but towards,towards speaking, towards telling, towards shouting from the rooftops...i was enthused with your conjuring of the image of "two makers battling to find"- which i have to believe is a more powerful, living & transcendent vision than the "heroic" one of the poet "struggling" alone with himself & the world. your image has a real heart of flesh in it pumping real blood. you are right about the essence of prayer - and now to borrow some of Burner's favorite language - adios amigo.
