My view on politics and war

Posted to Poetry and Politics

It's like I'm deep under the ocean, down with all the nocturnal fish, doing my own thing. Of course, it's not all drab and dark, because I'm not really under the sea, so sometimes it's sunny, but the point is, all the crashing of waves and planes flying over and gunboats - all that turmoil is going on way above me, on the surface, and I have no way of knowing at any given time which politicians are making the right choice or the wrong choice, for the right reasons or the wrong reasons, and it doesn't seem to make any difference, because, like the Bible says, the Earth will some day pass away. I don't mean this in a religious or spiritual way. Maybe the sun will supernova. A lot of stars eventually supernova, meaning they suddenly expand really large and burn much more hot, incinerating all the planets in their system, then they burn up and become black holes. It might not happen for a long time and, at any rate, there's nothing we can do so don't worry about it.
In the meantime, I'm surviving down below all the commotion. Now, just surviving takes a bit of doing, so don't think I'm goofing off here. Just surviving is no piece of cake.
