i can understand why eliot believed that...
but, in the end, even eliot said "Untill I can connect nothing with nothing." Nothing and Nothing can be see as the two dis-entangled realities or 'words' and the 'real'... perhaps at this stage in the waste land Eliot saw how words and the real had become "dissociated"? Again, the view of a co-habitation of word and real... a 'point-to-point' mapping of words onto the landscape of sensible reality seems best, but whether this is possible or not, is the next question...
