First Day of War

Will this be the day that we call
The first day of war? Or will it be
Tomorrow or the next or will we just
Wait for Saddam’s cigar to burn down
Till it’s shorter than Castro’s?

Fidel is loveable as dictators go. He
Rode in on the shoulders of his people
Who he really did liberate like Capone
Liberated Chicago from the South Side Gang.
And like we are about to do. Then install our own puppet.

But there’s always a bigger thug on the next block
Waiting for his chance at the vig and the juice
And the percentage that power takes.
Zero and double zero—house wins again
Today is always the First Day of War.
