Would like to know -- what books, poems, etc. on the subject of war/peace have you found powerful, original or important?
I'm drawing a blank myself (besides the obvious like "Catch-22"). For some reason the title "Notes From Underground" by Dostoevsky keeps popping up in my mind as I ponder this question, even though this is a book about one person's private war with himself. Maybe that is my choice though, since I guess all wars start inside the mind.
