I wonder why people get so caught up in the flavor of the media moment and the fear it engenders...

My dear friend Gordon died of AIDS, and I was upset about it that first day too. I was upset about his illness declining for years before that, but I didn't see any point in burying him while he was still alive, so I tried to see the best in the time we had left together. But the day he died, I cried. I think people are upset today because of the events that have taken place today. A bomb is never very interesting to the general public until it blows something up. If not immediately, then when SHOULD we be emotional about it?
