Favorite Suicide Writers and Artists

Harry Crosby shot himself at age 31, with his mistress, in a borrowed studio in New York City, 1929. There is some question whether he shot himself AND her, or if she shot herself and then he shot himself. Either way, what a mess!

But it occurred to me that a lot of writers and artists have committed suicide. I’m compiling a list. Can anyone help me out?

Please post your favorite suicides, and maybe give a line or two about what drew you to that person. Or, if that seems crass, let’s just get a list of names.
