War in Iraq

Posted to Poetry and Politics

Here's something I found about the war:

Hours pass and days go by
And still the youth go off to die
And still their frantic mothers cry
O’er their children’s grave.

Human beings are now assailed
And down the coffin lids are nailed
Because the bureaucrats have failed
Into war they caved.

And the stories left to tell
Of non-combatants killed as well
Of children growing up in hell
Roads in dead are paved.

Now what’s left is a mission
To wage a war of attrition
Why can’t our dreams reach fruition
That peace may be saved?

I dug it, but I'd like to know what you think.
