one body

yeah, it's a tough climate right now...... when you speak out against the war, you're definitely deemed "anti-american"..... bush has been so good at creating a culture of talking drones..... if we dare to think for ourselves, we're un-patriotic....... yet, that's EXACTLY what this country was founded on - freedom of expression, freedom of assembly........ it is our patriotic duty to participate in the creation of this country, of our government...... otherwise, it's more like a totalitarian regime, right?

you're question about what our guiding principles should be in terms of who we decide to "liberate", and how, is a tough one.... i do believe that the IDEA of the U.N. is a good one..... it's really a utopian vision - if only we would respect it and not bully it...... i think the U.N. is where we should set our sights when it comes to dealing with humanitarian issues....... when basic human rights are violated, i don't think it's any ONE country's job to police the offending country........ joining together, and mutually agreeing with many countries that there's an issue, is a vision that i like...... one body, unified in a common purpose to improve human condition and end suffering...... what a vision......

at this point in the evolution of our planet, if certain countries (including america) continue acting out of sheer ego and use dominating force in solo aggressive escapades, i think we're heading for trouble as a planet..... over the past 20 years, population has exploded and we've become more interconnected than ever as travel boomed and the internet revolutionized communication........ we are an extremely "linked" planet...... we need to start behaving that way, and elect leaders who hold that understanding of the world and treat it with respect....... i think the borders of countries are becoming less and less significant.... we need countries to unify and work together for the sake of the world's people.....
