what do you all think of don delillo?

I'm trying to decide whether to give his new novel, "Cosmopolis" a chance.
A lot of my friends love his stuff. Whenever I read a review of one of his books it sounds great. But I never actually have a good time with any of the books once I try them. Am I alone here?
