we criticize ourselves
for looking out for our own interest
honestly, it just makes us sound
more selfish and immature
to those who understand
those who have had to struggle
we try to lose our sense
of wrong and right
hoping that in the end
we won't have to fight
and our passiveness
will win us friends and peace
honestly, there is no peace
rarely even among friends
and with this attitude
we will lose in the end
we are afforded the luxury of opinion
the luxury of flip flopping
by people who know how to stand
people who take a chance
and we maintain the right to spit
on the faces of those
who were laboring as a sacrfice
oh and everyone's entitled
to their own opinion
as long as it sounds like our own
what a beautiful place
