Morning Kiss

Posted to Poetry

When that last note has been played
I want to spend my private time with you
Sustaining my urges for your acoustic fingertips
To caress my lips

Heavy in conversation, we are playing musical chairs
Following all dares, and looking for the cheapest fares
Your eyes say more than your words do and
My heart flutters with your thermal touch

There’s no rush, you can use my back-up toothbrush
Like a bookmark I’m on hold
I crave the day’s first natural high,
It’s your morning kiss goodbye

Just between you and me
I’ll hold your champagne lips tightly
Soaking up your energy
You’re the one present in my fantasy

Intoxicated with your fevered flavor
Like playing Double Dutch, I’m on cloud nine
Consumed in the fumes
I want to make you mine

There’s no rush, you can use my back-up toothbrush
Like a bookmark, I’m on hold
I crave the day’s first natural high,
It’s your morning kiss goodbye

I sense your presence as I’m peeling my label
While my Brooklyn Pale Ale expires
I’m lost inside a self-created fable and
The tempo of my constant thought depletes

There’s no rush, you can use my back-up toothbrush
Like a bookmark, I’m on hold
I crave the day’s first natural high
It’s your morning kiss goodbye
