I hail from Greeley, CO and so I too recognized many of the locations mentioned in the book. However, I was not as impressed as I was hoping to be. Whereas the writings were (mostly)decent, nearly the entire book is composed of fragments, lending the impression that Neal Cassady was unable to see anything through to its completion. Seems to me that Neal Cassady The Legend (who lives on in works by his Beat Brothers)was much more compelling of a figure than Neal Cassady The Man. I did, however, fall in love with his letters and the impact of his existence on some of my favorite authors can not be denied. And for that, all is forgiven.
