I've steered away from Nick Hornby's books for one reason alone.
Every single movie of his with high fidelity an exception comes accross like a foppish crappy pathethic trying to be more british than he actually is kind of way. I don't trust an author who sells everybook to the silver screen and lets Hugh Grant of all people into his movie. Dear god creative control rights, did he sell them down the drain?
However if you say High Fidelity is all that good I'll check it out in the book store but doubt I'd ever read anything else by him at all.
Too much of a 'pop' bridget jones for men tag for me.
