incredible story, actually
...and it's true, i believe. Elizabeth Smart fell in love with the writing of George Barker, an English poet. The two began writing letters, and Smart flew Barker and his wife to the U.S. George and Smart had an intense love affair, and apparently she bore him 4 children, but they never married.
Smart writes about their love affair, and believe me, this isn't typically my sort of thing to read about it. But the plain fact is that her writing is compelling, and she makes a number of incredible cross-references: from Canadian politics and weather to numerous references to Greek mythology. i found it to be a great read, and again i'd recommend trying to read it aloud.
