starred in the
broadway production
of grease
i stood in line
for three hours
to get a ticket
in the last row
but then i forgot
to go to the show
because i got distracted by
some summer lovin'
and shooting rubber bands
at the red balloon
that came loose
from the little girl's grasp
while she stood in the park
eating an ice cream cone
completely oblivious of the fact
that just a few blocks away
the beauty school dropout
was having no graduation day
