This whole story shows how and why Plato’s “medicinal lie” is political poison, particularly to a democratic nation which depends on fully informed voters for the process to work correctly.

I’d wondered – when I heard over and over again stories about the people heading the investigation into 9/11 quitting or being replaced – what was going on, but I always wanted to believe it wasn’t as odd as I thought it was. If this story is true journalism then I had every reason to be concerned. Which blows.
