It's about. . .
a kid named Siddhartha who seems to have the perfect life but lacks inner peace and tranquility. He goes off to seek it. He runs into the Buddah and decides not to learn under him as he feels that he must learn for himself. I'm only 1/4 of the way into the book, so I can't give you much more info. It is a very quick read however, only about 135 pages long. It is very interesting in the fact that it was written by Hess, a German author, during the 20s when Germany was in utter turmoil. Hess left Germany for Switzerland and was adamantly opposed to what Germany was becoming from WWI onward. The book is an interesting mix of eastern and western philosophy.
