A great book...Steinbeck's best...

Posted to What Are You Reading?

...I read it last year when i had a summer job in a bookstore. My boss and I were discussing books with Biblical themes and how great borrowing from the Bible is as a writing technique. And he said "Yeah, Steinbeck perfected it in East of Eden". Having seen the movie with James Dean I realized "I should read this book". So one dinner break, I took it off the shelf and by the end of the break my dinner was cold, I was 60 pages thru the book and for the next two weeks I immersed myself in it and I havent found a book that made me the feel the same way about reading since (although 100 Years in Solitude was captivating).
