The French Lieutenant's Woman
by John Fowles. There are some novels that you know will stay with you for the rest of your life, and even while reading it I knew this was one. Beautiful storytelling on so many levels. Entrancing. Also reading A Fire in the Mind, the life of Joseph Campbell, a matter-of-fact biography of the influential mythologist who has had a profound effect on my own life. Also reading Krishnamurti's Notebook, another influencing voice. I've been interested in Campbell and Krishnamurti separately for years and, coincidentally, I find out in the Campbell biography that he was good friends with Krishnamurti when they were both young and who fanned his desire to learn more about eastern wisdom.
