Dr.Sax - Kerouac

Posted to What Are You Reading?

Beautifully written, although definitely not his most readable. It takes you to his childhood in Lowell, and more his childhood fantasyworld in which he creates home-made phantoms and ghosts.Particularly heartwarming is where he makes up games of his own (I can see myself there....).I recently found via the litkicksboard that he wrote Dr.Sax in Burroughs' presence in Mexico. It made a lot of sense 'cause Burroughs' spirit comes peeping through once in a while in this book.Great read if you're a Kerouac-fan but I wouldn't know what to think of it if it was the first Kerouac I'd read.
