Sufficiently obtuse in meaning to allow an impersonal, applies-to-everyone-because-lyrics-are-interpretable-by-anyone quality, yet it's obviously something very personal you're trying to get across. Has, in my mind, a kind of Joshua Tree-era U2 potential about it.
But that's completely off the top of my head, which I'm currently off anyway with insomnia (my head, that is) in this blistering London heatwave. But I like it. I'm trying to pen lyrics meself and finding it tricksome and bothersome so congrats.
