nine times you played that damn song
leaving it on my message machine
so when i agreed to meet you in the park
you made me mad
insulting me with your heart
of curves and bitched out
playing and so, we parted former lovers
i left first
roaming
down the Krug park roadway
a one-way avenue of tree green splendor
something made me stop
was it you I saw
yes, here you are
coming down the hill
me, my hands stopping you
catching you
to cradle you against my chest
and tell you
never
never
will
i ever leave you again

and i can't get that goddam song out of my head
nor
do i ever want to
