read everything.

i've read a few, ham on rye, hollywood, some others. i've got a few books of his essays/columns/short pieces, which are also good reads.

go here for a start on his poems.

bukowski is the ultimate sensitive man disguised very well as a misogynist and a lout. he is pure. he says what he feels. you might not always agree, but if you are an openminded reader you will appreciate his honesty and, most of the time, be able to recognize the truth in his words. his philosophy was that anything less than the whole truth, in what you feel, think, say or do, was a vicious, vicious, reprehensible lie and therefore worthless as art. at least thats what i get from him.
