Nesting

Posted to Action Poetry

The bathroom looks brand sparkly new
the laundry is inviting with a garden view
No old food in the glistening whiteware
washing machine and fridge cleaned with care
Sweep away the cobwebs, even clean the stoves
nice covers on the couches, pots scrubbed in droves
A living room change around
no more dust to be found
My room coated with green paint
(I think I'm becoming a cleaning saint)
Tomorrow the kids have work to do
out with the broken toys, waiting for new
I have to fold my washing too
then my house will feel like it grew
I thought nesting was a load of tripe
but I think my womb is ripe
I want to meet this baby
so it knows it's mummy lady
I can't wait to hold the love
after that final shove
I wanna give birth now!
yells Mother Earth the stroppy cow
I even got a brilliant name
but you'll haveta wait and play the game
four weeks counting down
God I want this kid around

(please be early, please be early please be early )
