i think that's at least the right kind of answer

I'm not sure how I feel about the specific answer, but I do think that is the *kind* of answer we need. We need to think big. We need to evaluate entire systems.

I am not crazy about capitalism, but I wouldn't lump democracy in there. I don't see any alternative to democracy in a free world. If each human being is free, then each human being should have a voice in politics. Which is what is called democracy ... right?

If I had to pick the most destructive well-entrenched system, I would go after nationalism. I think it's amazing how much we identify with this archaic concept of nationality. 25,000 people were killed in an Iranian earthquake, and it barely got covered on CNN (supposedly the liberal news outlet). I thought we were all citizens of the world ... what happened to that idea?
