I live in New Zealand. Our government was vehemently opposed to the invasion of Iraq, until, that is, the post war heat came on and we were told to send engineering/support troops or else. We sent them and now we've joined the queue for reconstruction contracts.

Also, we have a ban on nuclear powered/armed ships entering our ports, no U.S. vessel has been here since the eighties. Now Washington is quietly threatening that unless we drop the ban our trade with the U.S. will start to suffer.

And this is how the U.S treats its friends and allies.

I'm not anti-American, after all they gave us William Faulkner, The Simpsons and Walt Whitman, but the Bush administration act like mafia stand over thugs when they think no-one's looking.
