Vernon God Little
...By DBC Pierre, yeah, its a good read. One of those flowing, well structured novels that seems (to me anyway)to have some well thought out and original characters. Its about a young typical American boy who is slowly made into this scapegoat as a killer after his best friend shoots up the school, deals with the outpouring of grief after a shock to the community and how its handled by the media and our tv-savvy culture. You could call it a satire, the puff on the back cover compares it to Twain, but I thought it added more layers then that. You should read it, its intelligent and genuinely interesting. the ending seems a little forced though.
