Thomas More's work... The more you uncover about it the more is eludes any meaning you try and place on it. Heres an example; Utopia is a fantasy world, a perfect society yet (inevitably) unachievable, from the Latin and Greek combination (Eutopos and Outopos-Literally 'Good Place' and 'No Place' respectively) but there are even more double meanings littered throughout-the two main characters Raphael Hythloday and Thomas More, the supposed link to the truth, both have names that are translated as 'speaker of nonsense' and 'moron'!
There are hundreds more, each cancelling each other out, and yet this discourse played a role in influencing Marx & Locke amongst others. Its a good read and I recommend it heartily
