well, i actually just finished OTR again, and i liked it better than the first time. personally i think that he's not as good a writer as he was a thinker, because i think he let his thinking get in the way of really progressing with his writing. but levi has a great point, which is the lyricism of his prose. but even having said that, i really dont think he was a mediocre writer. he was much more than that. i like his writing because of its flow, its easy way of getting into my thoughts.

especially with OTR, he mixes formal writing with spontaneous lyricism so well and it really makes me envy his work.
